Nose Art
What is the current rule to the extent Nose Art on military aircraft?
This is not very common to see nose art larger aircraft. It used to be allowed, but I know in the navy, the art "nose" must be approved by the commander of the squadron. Even stenciled the names of pilots or crew chief names / aircrewman approved a change maintenance. I know it was common practice since the First World War to make the art of nose, and some of the best examples are seen on vintage aircraft, even Birds of Vietnam, he had. The Gulf War, Part 1 (ie Desert Storm) did not give much art nose, and OIF while I there, I saw zero (0) examples of nose art in the marine portion of the house, and had few other allies and the U.S. Air Force birds, I saw only 1 unit (EC-130) which was a good example. I think the art of the nose is a thing of the past now, a tradition that has been deleted to be more PC
