Military Certificate
The military personnel lost my birth certificate. What do I do now?
The military personnel I had been dealing with lost my birth certificate a few weeks ago. Can I sue them or what?
I mean aren’t they supposed to keep those type of documents safe. I’m really pissed off because now anybody who gets a hold of my birth certificate can certainly become me with no problems.

Contact the County Clerks office where you were born and find out what you need to do to get another one. Usually it means providing them with a DL and other identity documents and send you a new one for a small fee.
It’s unlikely it is *truly lost* as in anybody could find it in the trash. It is more likely misfiled and will be returned when they find it or shredded because they don’t know how to find you. They are very serious about it, even if it doesn’t seem like it since they don’t know where it is.
