Metal Badge
Do detectives and Police still use badges?
Like in Columbo and other movies, do detectives still use the metal badge to show as identification?
They are issued metal badges, but are also issued photo ID cards, which are usually more convenient to carry and display.
Our department issues two photo ID cards, one for your wallet, and one with a clip on it to pin on your shirt/jacket.
