Medium Regular
What is the difference between regular and medium guitar strings?
It refers to the string gauges. In general, medium gauge strings are going to be thicker that regular gauge. Thus, they will have more tension when tuned to pitch and be a little harder to press down against the frets. The upside is that most guitarists consider heavier guage strings to have better tone and hold their tuning better.
Now, those terms are not universal amoung string makers. In other words, Ernie Ball regulars won’t necessarily be the same as D’Addario regulars. That’s why I work with the actual string guages so I know what I’m getting.
