Biblical Chronology – Synchronizing The History of Ancient Egypt with Israel
Egyptian dynasties 13-20
Leaders dynasties from 13 to 17 are contemporary with each other to a large extent, but a very important event occurs during this period. The Hyksos rulers arise at the end of the 17th dynasty and the rule for 94 years. Leaders are Hyksos invaders Canaan that capture Egypt. Their most notable cultural contribution is the domestication of horses. It was the horse and its use in the battle that was probably responsible for their rise to power in Egypt.
Pharaoh Ahmose, the first king of the 18th dynasty, the Hyksos and hunting leaders bring control back to Egypt Egyptian native.
Dynasties 19 and 20 we present I-Kings Ramses XI. These kings are the kings of Hebrew slavery in Egypt.
There are two events in the Old Will that serve as anchor points for this part of the Egyptian chronology, the death of Joseph and the Exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt. Take a look the first Exodus. Conventional chronology suggests that Ramses II was the Pharaoh of the Exodus Hebrew. I believe that the Hebrew Exodus has to occur after Ramses II because of the presence of the people of the Philistines in the history of the Hebrews. If the Exodus occurred during the reign of Ramses II, then the army Rameses III would not be strong enough to push the peoples of the Sea (a group that included historians believe the Philistines).
Why? The whole army the Pharaoh of the Exodus is drowned in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:15-18): "And the Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry you told me about the children Israel, so they can go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide, and the children of Israel come on dry ground in the middle of the sea And I, behold I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they follow:. and I will do me the honor over Pharaoh and all his army, his chariots, and horsemen "There are historical documents in its eighth year of Ramses III kept the Sea Peoples to conquer Egypt and Peoples of the Sea and have resolved to settle in Canaan.
Suppose the Hebrew Exodus happened in the eighth year Ramses III, after Sea Peoples were defeated. If the crossing of the Red Sea occurs in 1301 BC (according to the chronology fourth day), then Joseph's death would have occurred in 1659 BC during the reign of Ahmose of the 18th Dynasty. Remember that the Book of Joshua said about the death of Joseph (Exodus 1:6-8) "And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation and people. of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, and multiplied and became very powerful, and the earth was filled with them. There arose a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. "
If the King mentioned in these verses is Ahmose, how is it he does not know Joseph, Joseph gave a service to the nation of Egypt? This is because Joseph served the Hyksos kings and the king Ahmose is responsible for the end of the long reign of the invaders of Palestine, the Hyksos kings. Ahmose knows exactly who was Joseph, Joseph was a respected leader in the regime of his enemy. This is why the Hebrews Ahmose treated so harshly. Therefore, the Exodus is a good anchor for the reign of Ramses III in the 20th dynasty and the death of Joseph is a good anchor point for the beginning of the 18th Dynasty. This being the case that part of the conventional chronology of Egypt, the dynasties 18 through 20 should be moved earlier by 124 years. Dynasties Egypt is 18 to 20 below on schedule adjusted according to the Fourth Day Chronology of the Bible. Important characters of the Bible are referenced with the calendar so that archaeologists and historians can look for evidence of biblical characters during their contemporary Egyptian king. All dates are given in astronomical years BC
Egyptian dynasties 21-26
This time period is better understood when we start from Dynasty 26, then go back in time 21 of the dynasty. Dynasty 26 is easy since the date-last king of this dynasty, Amasis II, died in the same year of the Persian Empire Cambyses invaded Egypt. According to the Fourth Day Chronology Cambyses conquered Egypt in 345 BC, so this time Conventional Egyptian chronology on the schedule should be shifted later by 181 years. Now let's spend the whole timeline of dynasties 21-26 181 years and make some comments.
I believe that the 22nd Dynasty Shoshenk the alleged Shishak of the Old Testament. According to biblical chronology Rehoboam Shishak conquered literal in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, or 780 BC when the conventional Egyptian chronology is adjusted by 181 years forward in time of the reign of Shoshenk I is 764 to 743 BC Although not completely consistent with the chronology Fourth day of this result is very close. Small errors in the length of the reign of the kings of the 22nd to the 26th Dynasty in the conventional chronology of Egypt could explain this disparity in results.
So using the events of Cambyses invaded Egypt and the invasion of Shishak of the chronology of Israel Egyptian dynasties 21-26 to adjust is presented below. Note that Egypt is divided between Tanite (city of Tanus) and Thebes (city of Thebes) kingdoms in the 21st dynasty. Also note that the overlap 22nd 23rd dynasty dynasty and dynasties 24th, 25th and 26th overlap each other to some extent. The reigns of the kings of Judah are provided below to tell their reigns to the reigns of their respective contemporary Egyptian ruler.
