Where can I rent crimp heavy?
I want to change the battery terminals on my car. I need one of those Heavy Duty clamps great as that may crimp 4 gauge terminals (I think). Does anyone know where I can rent one?
Most auto parts stores that sell bulk cable will have a way to crimp the son. Many of crimpers gauge longer use two plates in a vice to crimp. There is another unit is essentially a punch. You put it in the terminal, then strike the punch with a hammer. Car audio shops would also be a seamer big enough to handel 4 gauge wiring. Soldering and heat shrink tubing is another option. Get the cables before the battery is the best option if you need 4 proof of current draw. Diesel stores are another good place to check that they use on Wiring Gage large semi tractor trailers. Bolt set the battery terminals are problematic at best and should be avoided if possible.
