Fighter Squadron
Fighter Squadrons?
How many planes did fighter squadron usually? Is it usual for there to be a training plan 2?
There is no simple answer to this question. Before the 90s, the squadron could be composed of no fewer than 85 aircraft, according to the mission, the aircraft type, and the political situations. In the early 90s, the Air Force has drawn down to a possible 12 planes per squadron. In the late 90s, some squads settled back to 18 aircraft, including F-15 units. Squadron component is fluid and determined by the service needs.
