Such is the dilemma of Euthyphro … It shows how the DC theory suffers because basically we want to be the morality based on reason not command arbitrary. Socrates asks: 1. Is this what is "good" willed by God? 2. or is what is willed by God "" good? So, if # 1 is correct, then mean there is a reason why God wants independent something. The reason is independent making it "the good If # 2 is correct, then all that God is what we must accept as "good". In other words what God wants not = "good" but – if God wanted to torture the innocent, then no 2 does not seem right, does it? Thus, it seems # 1 is the most plausible option. And therefore, there must be a reason why God wants us to good. This result is independent of his desires … God or morality will therefore not be built on a basis of divine command … It seems that the "reason" is the foundation.
